About Pat

Life long resident and your representative

Pat is a life long resident of the area having grown up in Lakeville, graduating from Rosemount High School in 1989 and Mankato State University in 1994. Pat and his wife Julie live in Farmington with their two young children.

Pat is a consultant working as a network and voice engineer. Julie (Rohloff) Garofalo is a stay at home mom who sometimes substitute teaches in the Farmington schools. Julie is also an active volunteer at Meadowview Elementary and other Farmington organizations. The Garofalo family are members of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Farmington.

Pat was first elected to the legislature in 2004, receiving the highest percentage vote of any first time candidate during that election. In 2006, Pat was re-elected by a large margin. Some of Pat's top priorities at the legislature are job creation, improving education, and keeping a lid on taxes.

Pat has been honored by the newsletter Politics in Minnesota for special recognition as a 2006 Freshman Legislator of the Year. In 2007, Pat was named as the minority leader on the powerful House Finance Committee.
